What is mercy? How do we obtain it?

God is a God of mercy...Mercy is something we can petition on behalf of other or for oneself to reign down upon us during times of troubles...

OR is it always available and in those times of troubles are we blind to it?

Compassion for someone: who is lacking or in need of aid, or afflicted...this is mercy...
