Scripturally speaking, there IS no such thing as "the" antichrist.
.
SPECIAL NOTE: Use of the term "antichrist" is exclusive to the apostle John.
.
Except for John's writings the term "antichrist" appears in no other Scripture.
.
Which means the term "antichrist" was simply one of John's euphemisms.
.
Therefore, the term "antichrist" applies to - EVERY - person and/or entity that has a mindset against Christ.
.
Therefore there is no "THE" antichrist. (that is, no singular antichrist)

John the apostle makes it clear that any person who in any way denies Jesus, is "anti" Christ.

He likewise makes it clear that any person who in any way denies the Father, is "anti" Christ.

Throughout the Bible the term "antichrist" appears only five times

"Little children, it is the last days: Ye have heard that (1) antichrist shall come, even now are there many (2) antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last days." (1-John 2:18)

"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is (3) antichrist that denieth the Father and the Son." (1-John 2:22)

"And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of (4) antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world." (1-John 4:3)

No place in God's Word does it so much as imply that the term "antichrist" in any implies that "it" is a man.

There are - many - who have grown to misuse, and to misapply the term "antichrist".
.
To include most churches, most pastors, most teachers, and in fact most Christians.
.
Therefore, ANYONE who has a mindset that is against Christ is ANTI - CHRIST.
.
Therefore, there - I S - no such thing as a "singular" antichrist.
.
Therefore, there is no " THE " antichrist.
.
Whereas anyone and/or anything that is against God The Father is ANTI - CHRIST.
.
Whereas anyone and/or anything that is against Christ, is ANTI - CHRIST.

...I've said that I believe the anti-christ is a (bad) spirit. May the Lord shield me from it!

Another word for antichrist, is false christ...and this person missed theses verses:

Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

also, the word, Messiah:

Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

If you go back to the verses around these verses and also the ones that this person gave, there is a bigger picture of a false christ or anitchrist.., the rebuttal that this person is making is mute, because we do know as what is described in Revelation 13, to be an antichrist, and the word used, is also described in:

Daniel 5:21 And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.

Furthermore, the antichrist is described in all the following ways throughout scripture:

Son of Perdition

John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

Wicked One

Jeremiah 2:33 Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways.

Matthew 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

Matthew 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

The mystery of iniquity

Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
