The world will not receive the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit is foreign to it. As with Judas, Jesus had to dismiss him before He taught His disciples about the Holy Spirit. John Chapters 13-16.

There are 7 major points about the Holy Spirit:

John 14: 16,17 The Holy Spirit is a Co-Habiting Comforter. In these verses Jesus makes it very plain who can receive the Holy Spirit.

John 14:18 The Holy Spirit is Consulation. He will not leave us comfort-less. Do you see the world and how the world is never comfortable? It may appear to give you what ever you need, but the world is always reaching out for more "stuff" because nothing can satisfy it. A person in Christ that has recieved the Holy Spirit is always in peace and at comfort. If we get out of that, it is always something of the world that has pulled us out of that comfort of the Holy Spirit.

John 14:19-21: The Holy Spirit will give us a proper consciousness. If we who are spiritual and of like mind with Christ Jesus, we then should be in the spiritual understanding of things. Our "awareness" should be on those things that He places our minds on. If we cast off the imaginations of this world and keep them our down, our minds will be conscious of Him always. Have you ever noticed that when we get into murmmering and complaining that our mind moves out of peace and into turmoil? Once the trial has past our minds get fixed back onto the Lord. Just think of the victory that we would beget if only our minds were to remain on our Savior in the midst of that trial the entire time we endure that trial....Wow!

John 14:26: The Holy Spirit is our Counselor: He will remind us of His word. He will quicken your memory if you read and study His word so that it is in you. We must know what His word says so when the storm comes, he can console you and counsel you. When He wants to coo you into His presence you will know and understand the voice that is calling to you.

John 15:26: The Holy Spirit is our Confirmation: When a spirit testifies of Jesus it is confirmation that it is the Holy Spirit. If a spirit is attempting to set your mind on something else and you feel uneasy about it, this is your confirmation that this is not of the Holy Spirit.

John 16:8-11: The Holy Spirit is our Conviction: There are 3 points here in judgment toward the world.
Verse 9: Sin
Verse 10: Righteousness
Verse 11: Judgment
If we are in Him, we will be cleansed of our sins upon the conviction of them when we confess them to Him.
If we remain in His word and in wisdom of His word our righteousness shall be established.
For we are not of this world and will not be judged on the day of judgment but will undergo the refining fire to burn out the wood, hay and stubble to reveal the gold and silver that remains. We will be given our reward accordly.

John 16:12-19: The Holy Spirit is our Continuation in Christ Jesus...AMEN! There are 4 different ways that He continues us in Christ.
1. When the Spirit of Truth has come HE WILL GUIDE you into all truth, for it is His message.
2. He will not speak on His own; He will only speak what He hears, and He will tell you what is to come.
3. He will bring glory to Me by taking from what is Mine and make it to known to you.
4. Through the marvels of Christ: He will show you things to come.
